A project for D8 – the design of the website for Trongate 103, a new arts centre which has opened in the Merchant City of Glasgow. Trongate 103 comprises of several independent art galleries, a Russian cafe and a kinetic sculpture theatre.

Taking the orignal visual identity created by Graphical House, I produced the front-end template for the CMS driven-site.

My old employers D8 are a design consultancy who cover graphic design, branding, interior design and digital. I was given the task of redesigning the interface of their website (with a little help with the more complicated Javascript behind the slideshow!).

The industrial cleaning company Spill Direct went through a rebranding exercise with D8 and I was given the task of producing a visual identity for their new online brand Yellow Shield.  I also applied the new identity when designing the interface for their new ecommerce website.

The website was built using Wordpress, designed with a cut-and-paste aesthetic to reflect Jonnie’s DIY musical approach.

I designed the interface for D8’s own content management software. Unfortunately I can’t link to a working version, but the  CMS was often complimented by clients for it’s ease-of-use. I also  had fun designing the set of ‘cute’ icons below!

I designed the email newsletter and this flash landing page which were created  to try and help generate ‘viral’ interest in the Wickerman music festival in Dumfries. The was campaign was based around a comedy ‘rockumentary’ film by Synchronicity films.

My website has gone through a recent redesign and is all the better for it (I hope!), but that doesn’t mean to say I am not proud of the older versions. The ephemeral nature of websites often mean they are consigned to the digital graveyard and forgotten forever, so in this case it is nice to show the flash animation my first site was based on (later embellished with a navigation), designed way back in 2004 for a 800×600 monitor!
